Cedenco will start processing IQF peas from the middle of next month.
It's a busy time of year for our Agronomy team. they've alomost planted all our green pea crops.
The start of Summer is also the start of Cedenco's green garden pea harvest and processing.
UHT Green pea puree is Cedenco’s newest product; made from fresh garden peas harvested in Gisborne, New Zealand. The final puree has a vivid green colour and a cooked pea flavour.
“Vanilla butter poached New Zealand scampi with spring pea three ways” – This innovative dish of prime NZ ingredients was a treat to the taste buds and senses with soft poached scampi served with pea prepared in three distinct ways – a smooth puree, dry flaked peas and crunchy pea tendrils.
We started our 2013/ 2014 pea programme on Wednesday 30 July. The picture shows planting of a local paddock just north of Gisborne. This area is characterised by deep, free draining recent river silt soil which are common on the Poverty Bay Flats. We expect to be harvesting this paddock around the middle of November.
