Dish Name:

“Vanilla butter poached New Zealand scampi with spring pea three ways” – This innovative dish of prime NZ ingredients was a treat to the taste buds and senses with soft poached scampi served with pea prepared in three distinct ways – a smooth puree, dry flaked peas and crunchy pea tendrils.

Info About the Charity Event:

Facing stiff competition on the charity calendar, Te Omanga Hospice asked Verve to make its annual fundraiser an event it could depend on.

Verve consulting transformed it into a big-tick day on the capital city’s food and wine calendar—one that would sell out a year in advance.

The event moved from an out-of-the-way venue into the heart of the city. Wellington’s top chefs could really turn up the heat in superior kitchens. And keep things cool, overseeing the smooth production of 1,800 plates over five hours.

By raising standards across the board, Te Omanga Hospice hit its fund-raising target and lifted its profile into the bargain. And three-hundred discerning foodies said: “See you next year.”

Message from Te Omanga:

We managed to raise $93,000 on the day through the generous purchase of tables and sponsorship of auction items. Thank you also to our chefs from Searancke Catering, Artisan, Capitol, Osteria Del Toro and Boomrock for their massive efforts – we’ve heard only great feedback about your divine creations. The Vintners’ event planning committee are already working on next year’s lunch, so we’ll promote the date and venue for that shortly. Vintners’ is the major annual fundraising event which assists Te Omanga fund the care and support we are committed to delivering throughout the region 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
